Recycle Rewards program is now 6 months old

Having opened on 1 May 2025, there are now Recycle Rewards reverse vending machines all over Tasmania, including two in the Huon Valley, one at the car wash Main Road Huonville, and one at Dover at the community workshop. There is also one at the Baretta waste transfer station in Kingborough.

This program has been incredibly successful with one million containers recycled in just four days by 6 May 2025.

Under Recycle Rewards, Tasmanians can choose to either receive a refund of 10 cents for every container they deposit or donate the proceeds to one of over 120 official Donation Partners.

Circular Economy Huon is now a Recycle Rewards Donation Partner, so it is easy to direct your recycle rewards to CEH, which will make a tremendous difference to our budget, so we can continue to bring talks and presentations to residents of the Huon Valley on the important matters that confront us and to help us become more aware, more resilient and more prepared as a community.

You can donate your eligible drink containers quickly and easily at your local refund point. All refund points have options to donate to your chosen charity or community group.
